Can’t Smile Without You

My sister, Oriana, tells me she remembers me smiling when she was younger. Usually it’s easy to smile among friends. Friends put you at ease. They’re like flowers. All they need is a little bit of attention and they’re happy.

Today, I’m finding it hard to smile, even next to the beautiful, velvet and perky likes of Aquilegia, Columbine Plant. Like all of you, I’m missing all the family.

One thing to remember is that nature has been given some respite from our ridiculous, and often pointless, noisy and polluting, commutes to work. Last week I photographed a heron, over the wall, and my partner’s daughter found a woodpecker in her garden..

The consolation is that nature is thriving.
