Repair work underneath the birch

As some of you know, the birch was leaking sap and had spread it’s roots, draining the soil in the dry weather and encroaching on the once resplendent Michaelmas daisies.

I’ve watered these from March to August in the back garden
After the tidy up. I’ve removed half the daisies and replaced with new lavender whichever I’ve grown from cuttings, and which tolerates wet and dry weather.
