Saplings, part 3 May in GB.

Against my better judgement, I planted these just before the onset of some cold weather here. It has been unseasonably hot here of late, but we are beginning to get the cold mornings and the hot days, like they did in Spain and Italy in the 1980s.

I mistimed this, as some protracted wilting has occurred. Pruning right back with secateurs will revive the young trees. Cut at an oblique angle.

Prune the tree right back, to encourage new growth. Within a week new growth has appeared.
Saplings, with new shoots
Almost dead, but still alive and will grow back within a few months with regular watering.
