Ponds

For me no garden is complete without a pond, even if it is only one foot square. There is nothing that compares to watching the dragonflies and damselflies hover over your pond, or settle on the sage, which is a great plant to nestle next to the water, as the dragonflies love it.

I’ve just begun work on a small pond in Bristol, and will update you on the progress in future blogs. It is important to dig about a foot deep and to be prepared for visitors, such as frogs and toads, by providing a sturdy means of escape; a pile of well positioned rocks, which you can gather from around your garden, is the best solution to this problem.

Now is the perfect time to get your pond started….

I’ll let you know how my pond develops….
